In 2021 Doug joined the Board of Directors of RedLine, a nonprofit contemporary art center that fosters education and engagement between artists and communities to create positive social change.

Kacena has designed 8 lines of Handmade Rugs manufactured in Tibet and Nepal.

Doug is a Contemporary Collectors' Circle member and a Museum Associate at the Denver Art Museum (DAM)

Doug was first published as an artist at age 11 in the Best Selling book " A Day in the Life of America"

We the People

For 19 years Doug served on the Steering Committee and volunteered for the Capital Hill United Neighborhoods (CHUN) People's Fair. He recieved the prestigious 'CHUN Good Neighbor Award" in 2016 for his work with the Mural Project serving disadvantaged youth programs across the city, including Urban Peak, YNIG, Boys and Girls Clubs of Denver, and VSA-Access Gallery.
